International students are allowed to work during the studies. After completion of studies a student can apply to extend the residence permit for up to six months. Students are allowed to do Part-Time job. Duration is 20 hrs per week

A student planning for a full time study for a period exceeding 3 months should apply for a residence Permit for studies in Sweden. To apply for a permit student must have been admitted to a full-time accredited university course in Sweden and should have paid a first installment of his tuition fee.
A family member(s)of a student with a residence permit for studies at a university can also apply for their residence permit for the same period of time. If the permit is for longer than 6 months family member can get a work permit. Spouse can work full time during the course of study.
You are eligible for a residence permit if your family member have a residence permit for studies and if you Have your support secured for the whole planned period of stay in Sweden. Support requirement fund is SEK 3500 per month for a Spouse and SEK 2100 per month for a child.
